Should e’er ye fa’ on harder times,
   Should e’er your purse be empty,
Be thankit for your kith and kin
   And health; ye’ve still got plenty.

O Maisters! Wha bleat rhetoric
   While Bankers bleed the nation—
Take heed: there’s nane forbye the De’il
   Can buy his ain salvation.
